Not a classroom, but a small area dedicated to their emotional and mental health. I believe in the importance of children's overall health.  As such, I incorporate this as part of our daily routine.  Spending a full day in childcare can be stressful and overwhelming to manage for some young children, and they need a soft, quiet, protected place where they can relax and unwind.  This space will not serve as the Time-Out area; it will only be used to encourage positive emotional/mental health.  To make the children feel safe, calm, and at home, this space will be filled with soft surfaces, cuddly/soothing toys, blankets, pillows, soft lighting, relaxing music, reading material, books with pictures.  One wall is decorated with family portraits, as well as the photos of their pets.

Sensory play plays an important role in your child’s development from birth to early childhood. It helps build nerve connections in their brain’s pathways, which can help your child complete complex tasks.
